3-month update
I was feeling really old when I hit my 40s, so I finally decided to start taking care of my skin. In the before picture I was literally doing nothing. Just SPF and moisturizer, that’s it. About three months ago I started really looking into what would actually help with my fine lines, especially my smile lines, and my skin texture. This is my routine.
AM CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser
The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors
Biore UV Aqua Rich SPF 50
PM CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
Rewindglow micro dart patches twice a week
The Ordinary Retinol 0.5 percent four times a week
I took your advice and started using a richer moisturizer at night, which I did from day one. In the morning I switched to something lighter. I also added active ingredients into my nighttime routine. I started with retinol 0.5 percent and after about two months I moved up to 1 percent, and that really improved my skin texture. I love the Biore UV Aqua Rich SPF 50 because it doesn’t leave a white cast and feels really comfortable on my skin. It also sits beautifully under makeup. These micro dart patches are tiny self dissolving micro darts I use overnight and remove in the morning. They contain active ingredients like retinal, peptides, niacinamide, and vitamin C. Within two to three hours the darts fully disappear into the skin. The CeraVe cleanser doesn’t strip my skin and it removes sunscreen and makeup really well at night. Sometimes in the morning I don’t even use a cleanser if my skin isn’t oily or sweaty, I just rinse with cold water.
