Isn't canvas being online a genuine risk for data leak? Genuine Question.

I read there was some 6 tb of data that involved all the data for the universities. If I was a hacker the first thing I'd do is download the data and wouldn't need to gain disruptive access to the website. Isn't getting canvas online a genuine risk for the university in protecting itself and their student's data and violating FERPA?

Like I've studied for my exam all night while I could've studied for the upcoming 2 exams I have on monday but without clear instructions all this seems unwarranted for.

This is going to end badly

Firstly it was absolutely unfair to not give directions on whether students should keep studying or not. Secondly, the instructors that shared course material on Box on did so for PARTIAL COURSE MATERIAL. You're taking cumulative exams and expect me to not study previous course notes and materials?? Personally, even though I believe this is the administration's fault, I don't think they'll take the responsibility to handle this situation fairly. The pressure is going to build up and fall on to the instructors and professors and there seems like nothing we as students can do about that. I suggest please email your respective professors regarding the situation. Don't put out your frustration on them but alert them on your individual circumstance (because I know everyone has a problem with this, some small some major). Be respectful but also know there were better ways to manage all this but the university chose not to opt for that.
