I’ve been in kind of a weird spot in my life since I graduated HS in 2024. I live with my family, did an internship but quickly lost the job I got from that. Everyone in my family has a degree. The expectation from my mom is that I have to go to college so the pressure is on.

The problem that I’ve been having for the past couple of years is that I genuinely do not know what to major in. Each major has pros and cons and picking one feels so serious and intimidating, like you’re literally deciding what you wanna do for the rest of your life and it’s a huge time/money investment.

I’m pretty shy so ideally I would like something where I don’t have to do a ton of social interaction. But I can be okay with more social jobs, I used to work in childcare if that tells you anything. Not good at math so definitely taking that into consideration.

I just need a major and a career path ASAP because I need to be in college soon and am stumped. I want my mom to finally see me in college soon and have a decent career that I can one day make pretty good money and live independently from, so I’m very open to hearing any suggestions :)

edit: I live in the US
