Assalamu alaikum brothers and sisters,

I have a question regarding Moroccan wedding traditions.

I’m not from Morocco, but my soon to be husband is. I’m trying to figure out what is considered ‘normal’ in terms of gifts for the bride from the grooms family.

I come from a culture where the bride receives a gold set, and gift boxes from the grooms family. However, my soon to be husband says that’s not the case in Moroccan culture. He says that the groom pays for the wedding and that’s it.

Can anyone from a Moroccan background/married to a Moroccan please confirm?

What is the setup for a normal, not over the top wedding in Europe?
