Weapons Training?! Team 7 Receives New Tools! Naruto Fanfic Written by Fine-Arts-3446
This is a Naruto fanfic I wrote after seeing u/Klefkahaha1 post a prompt about it on this subreddit. This is part 1 to the Team 7 Weapons Training fanfic prompt request. Story Begins:
Kakashi is walking around the Leaf Village on a sunny afternoon day. He greets many villagers as he walks through the streets he often frequents. He continues his walk until he is stopped by a messenger ninja. The ninja hands him a scroll and leaves before Kakashi opens it.
Once open, he reads the message from Hokage Tsunade Senju.
Hello Kakashi,
"I need you in my office now for something important. Also, actually knock on the door this time and don't sneak in with your shadow blur technique. Thanks."

Kakashi closed the scroll and headed to the office.
Once he arrived, he knocked on the door with a slight tap.
"It's open, you can come in," Tsunade spoke audibly at her desk.
Kakashi opened the door and saw Tsunade sitting at her desk with Jiraiya standing beside her. He closed and locked the door behind him, before he walked to the center of the Hokage Office.
"Hey guys"—Kakashi waved at both people—"I got your message on the way here, so what do you need?"
Tsunade turned her head to Jiraiya and gave him a slight nod. He nodded back and went to a drawer to pull out a cardboard box labeled, "Team 7: Training Materials."
Jiraiya set it on a nearby table before returning to Tsunade's left side, facing the copy ninja.
"Welcome Kakashi, I'm glad you are here because we need your help with some training for your team," Tsunade stated.
"Hmm, training? What kind of training?" Kakashi replied.
"Weapons training for Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura."
"Weapons training? You mean Kenjustu? Why exactly?" Kakashi asked with a confused look.
"Because we need them to expand their weapon usage and skills, especially the blonde one," Tsunade spoke. "I met all three of them after I became Hokage and they seem to be well-mannered and coordinated together. It seems you did a great job as their sensei."
Kakashi scratched his head. "Thank you, Lady Tsunade. I'm glad you noticed and it took a lot of work for it to happen. Hehe."
"You're welcome and I'm glad you are their sensei..." Tsunade said as she showed a low smile.
Jiraiya noticed and began to smile. 'Wow, she really is proud of what Kakashi has done for his students.' He thought.
Her smile disappeared slowly as she focused her eyes on the box for team 7, then looked back at Kakashi.
"Now, back to business. I talked with Jiraiya for a while and we decided to assign your three students a specialized weapon for their moveset," —Tsunade pointed at the box—"inside the box we have labeled the weapon scroll, contract and guidebook on how to use their respective weapon. Please be careful not to lose it."
Kakashi nodded. "Okay Lady Tsunade, thank you for the information. May I ask when the training should start?"
"Tomorrow morning at the training field. Same time and place. Jiraiya will be there to supervise the first day with you, then leave afterwards," Tsunade answered.
"All right, sounds like a plan!" Kakashi exclaimed with a thumb ups gesture.
"That's great to hear, Kakashi. I will be there to help out and make sure everyone understands what's going on. Especially Naruto with his clumsy self. Hahaha," Jiraiya added as he spoke.
"Yeah, Naruto can be clumsy, but he is the reason why I enjoy my job as sensei." Kakashi deflected.
He walked up the box and picked it up. "Any who, I'm going to take this box home and be on my way. See ya."
Kakashi waved goodbye to both Sannin as he began to leave the office, with the Sannin returning the same gesture.
The Next Day.
The afternoon sun in the Hidden Leaf Village is beaming down lightly. Naruto is relaxing inside of his apartment and sitting on a couch. He yawns openly as his stomach begins to growl. He shifts his head to an unopened ramen cup on the kitchen counter. He stands up and makes a quick step toward the cup, before placing it in the microwave.
The ramen begins to cook in the microwave before sitting down at the kitchen table. Once the ramen is done, he removes the lid, then grabs a pair of chopsticks for his meal. As he takes his first slurp, a hand touches his shoulder gently. Naruto pauses and begins to turn his head, but his body quickly vanishes in an instant.
Moments later, he is lying flat on the ground of a grassy, plain field.
"Ouch, what was that?" Naruto questioned as he rubs his head. "Wait a minute, where am I?"
Naruto sat up and looked around his surroundings. He saw no one and got up slowly to dust himself off. Suddenly, a large puff of smoke appeared in front of Naruto with three shadowy figures outlined. Naruto pulls out his kunai, ready to fight as the smoke clears. The smoke dissipates to show Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi holding a few boxes.
"What the! Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi Sensei?!" Naruto uttered in shock.
His teammates place the boxes on the ground beside a wooden post before turning to Naruto.
"Hey loser, what's up," Sasuke asked.
"Hmm, nothing much quiet boy," Naruto retorted as he crossed his arms.
"Hey Naruto, we're fine. How about you?" Sakura spoke next.
Naruto looked towards her way. "Uh, I'm all right. I just got teleported here without finishing my ramen."
"Oh, that's odd. Well, at least your here for our training session today!" Sakura said as she beamed with excitement.
"Trai, train-, training session?! Since when? I didn't hear about it!"
"Oh, well sensei sent us a message this morning to our homes," Sakura replied.
"Oh okay," Naruto calmly stated. "I didn't receive anything this morning, when I wake up."
Kakashi touched the back of his neck. "Opps, I'm sorry Naruto. That one is on me. I forgot to send the ninja dog after I helped out a civilian."
Naruto pointed at his sensei. "Pshh, yeah right! I don't buy any of that!"
Kakashi shrugged. "Okay, your call."
A few minutes went by as Team 7 waited in the grassy field area as Kakashi read his book. Naruto was irritated and wanted to know what they were waiting for. Kakashi mentioned Jiraya would show up, but he's already late.
Kakashi asked his team if they wanted to start the training now. They all nodded in agreement.
Team 7 stood up and faced Kakashi as he summoned three scrolls, then tossing one out to each student.
Kakashi told them to open it and a weapon appeared on the scroll.
All three were surprised and took hold of their respective weapon. Sasuke had received the Uchigatana, while Sakura got a Bo Staff and Naruto acquired Tonfas.
"All right, you three," Kakashi spoke firmly, "I want you to hit me with your strongest attack or... get destroyed!!"
