Hi all,
I wanted to share my efforts to help my formula fed CMPI babies gut. My baby has CMPI, was born via C-section and I was on antibiotics during labor because they didn’t know if I had strep B since she came early. That’s a triple whammy for her gut health which I’ve been trying to fix. She’s currently 4 months.
Ever since getting her on Alimentium she’s been doing a lot better (diaper rash, diarrhea, and eczema all gone), but has still has gassy/tummy issues. I got her a tiny health gut test and it showed a bad imbalance of bacteria and critically low beneficial bacteria like bifidobacteria. One not so beneficial strain dominating her gut is likely producing a lot of gas according to Claude AI (i had it look at her test results).
I’ve been trying to fix this with probitiocs and have tried 5 different ones, as I keep learning more and more and end up switching to optimize bifidobacteria since im not breastfeeding but also want LGG since its been shown to help cows protein intolerance.
I wanted to share this product I’m about to start since it finally checks all my boxes. If anyone is interested I can check back in month. I will likely retest via tiny health to see if the bacteria take.
I think this product is best for her given her CMPI. Has anyone used it before?
The bifidobacteria need something to feed on but most HMO supplement products contain dairy. Alimentium has some HMO in it (2-FL), but only a fraction of what a breastfed baby may get. This supplement uses tapioca fiber as a prebiotic, not HMO’s. The bifidobacteria will feed on that and it will help them establish better than just the bacteria supplement alone. It’s contains LGG and B. infantis, two of the most studied strains for infant gut health.
LGG has shown to speed up cows milk protein tolerance.
