For some reason when my floor was installed a few years ago this was never installed by my sliding door. It was caulked but the caulk looked gross so I removed it.

My question is, can I put the bracket on top of the LVP or do I need to cut away the LVP and install it to the floor underneath. Or do I just caulk it again and call it good.
