The REM is soon expanding, further making the Ottawa LRT construction timelines look like a joke.
The Montreal REM is opening its newest branch to the West Island this month - that will be 64km worth of rail to date.
We are still stuck at 12.5km for Line 1 and 23km for the single track Lines 2 and 4, so together = 37km.
They started construction in 2018.
We started construction in 2013.
This isn't even a comparison of the actual systems as the REM is far superior to ours, even despite the REMs early performance issues.
By next year they'll have completed the entire 67km project in 9 years and if we're lucky, we will have completed our entire 57km project in 14-15 years.
