I’m writing an essay and trying to understand how different people experience anxiety, especially in a more visual or abstract way.

For example, I sometimes imagine mine as a faceless figure dressed in black, like a shadow that just follows me around. It got me wondering how others would describe theirs.

If you’re comfortable sharing — what does your anxiety feel like in your head? If it had a form, object, or presence, what would it be? Does it change depending on the situation?

Also, does anxiety affect how you see or imagine things? Like, does it distort stuff, make certain thoughts louder, or create specific kinds of “mental images”?

And if you’ve managed to get a bit more control over it — was there a specific epiphany that helped, or was it more of a gradual shift?

Would really appreciate hearing different perspectives, even if it’s hard to put into words :)
