Random thing I learned recently that I genuinely never thought about..

Apparently not all bottle filling stations are filtered, even though they all sort of look the same. Some have filters and some are basically just regular tap water (potentially contaminated tap water) through the bottle filler.

One way to tell is looking for the little filter indicator light on the unit. A lot of filtered stations have one and unfiltered ones usually don't.

Now I can't stop checking every bottle filler I pass by.

I am wondering...if a bunch of bottle filling stations at UF are unfiltered, how would students go about getting them upgraded to filtered ones? Has anyone ever pushed the school on something like this before?
