Is teeth clenching/jaw clenching/TMJ more likely be fixed with a customized nightguard from my dentist or would it more likely be a bite orthodontic issue?
I am going to get a nightguard for my overactive jaw clenching. It has already begun to cause my teeth damage and I wake up with a sore jaw somewhat often. I believe that it could be possibly due to the way my teeth bite down naturally.
Also, who would be the one to best diagnose whether my bite is affecting my jaw clenching. My dentist or my oral surgeon? And generally speaking would your general dentist or oral surgeon be the one to have a good orthodontic referrral?
