Just wanted to use this platform to share my experience with my medical abortion and maybe get some uncertainties settled!
I believe I was maybe 8 weeks pregnant, I took 1 mifepristone Friday night and took 4 misoprostol ~27 hours later and placed them under my tongue. I highly recommend using a pain med beforehand, but I forgot :,) I ended up cramping and bleeding early. 30 minutes later I swallowed the remaining pills, but ended up puking 5 minutes later! So lesson learned to not eat heavy prior.
I was a little worried, but I read that if I’m cramping and bleeding already then I should be okay, typically you’ll take two more right away after puking. This is my second MA and (not to scare anyone) but it’s still the most painful experience I’ve ever had.
I had two heated blankets and my partner cleaning up puke, getting me water, comforting me in general which I strongly encourage that you don’t do this alone. Passing little clots, diarrhea, tears, every thing coming out every way. ~3hr later I took a pain med then 2 more miso, because I didn’t feel “empty”. I kept passing out/falling asleep so that helped a lot, after that I fell asleep for another 3 hours. It’s now the next morning and I’m still crampy, my cats are doing biscuits on my tummy. Hoping I pass everything, not sure how to tell in this circumstance, but I feel a little better now and will take things light today!
Last year I had an MA and it was smoother? I was ~12 weeks, same pain, no illness but maybe ~2hrs after the 4 miso I needed to take a “dump”but passed 1 large clot maybe size of an egg & definitely saw the embryo. I didn’t take anymore miso after passing it and felt 100x better 1 hr later! Hope this helps someone!! (:
