I’m looking for a spicy historical fiction

Think like Tipping the velvet, or Night watch by Sarah Waters or Learned by heart by Emma Donoghue

It doesn’t have to be queer. The most important thing is that is well researched / pretty historically accurate. I don’t really care what time period or location.

I’ve been reading a lot classic lit like Jane Austen, which has been so great. But I do want something with some spice for a change

Thanks!

Spicy period piece suggestion

I’ve never really read spicy books before. I mean I have read like historical fiction that had some spice thrown into the plot, like Sarah Waters books for example. Or slow burn romances that don’t have any spice. But nothing where the smut / spice is the main point of the book- which is what I’m interested in

I’m pretty picky though when it comes to writing style. There is a lot that makes me DNF a book. Unfortunately historical accuracy is important - I think I wouldn’t be able to let glaring mistakes go.

I’m not that into fantasy but if like the best thing you’ve ever read I’d be willing to check it out.
