Has anyone got scale and polish done and been charged way above the €15 capped PRSI cost?
My hygienist has charged me for a "protracted periodontal treatment" the last appointment and I wasn't told I had gum disease or it was any special treatment. I paid €45 instead.
I looked into it and this treatment is often done under anaesthetic which I definitely didn't get done. I have some receding gums but they said it's only a bit bad for my age. I also feel they should be telling you before proceeding if the cost is going to be significantly higher, like any other treatment plan.
The same thing seems to have happened to my boyfriend this week so I want to see how many people are being possibly wrongly charged. I don't believe we both have gum disease especially at age 32.
