24gb vs 16gb ram, which one to choose as a physics/bio undergrad
I'm a science undergrad, currently about to start my sophomore year.. I'll be choosing my major in the second semester of this 2nd year.. and atp I'm not sure which major I'll pursue but most probably it'll be either physics or biology..
So, I've heard that if one chooses physics as their major they would need to work with/use some softwares which are only windows and if I want to use them then i should run windows on the macbook and there is no other option..
So, to do those things, will 16gb ram be enough or should I go with the 24gb ram version? For reference, I'm an IISER student..
Edit 1: The reason I'm looking towards mac, instead of windows is rn windows' situation isn't that good from what I've heard till now.. I'll be honest, I'm from a middle class/lower middle class background so, budget is a key thing to consider.. (i got a free admission through a test in that uni..) so for every penny i spend, I think a lot.. :)
So, what I'm trying to say is that, Tldr; this is a long term investment, windows laptops usually slow down after 3 to 5 years, and those would be my peak years so yh.. If I'm wrong please correct me.. and yes if there are any good windows laptops that would be good, then please recommend them..
