Looking for a fic where Hermione's mother is emotionally abusive
As the title says, Hermione's mom was a real bitch in this one. Always criticising her, telling her she has to perform better or she'll be worthless and an embarrassment for her. Hermione's father just stands around doing nothing.
It's definitely a Slytherin!Hermione fic which starts in 1st year.
There are two scenes I remember. The first scene takes place in Hogwarts. I think Hermione's mother comes around regularly to talk to Snape about Hermione's academic progress. When the three of them are in a room talking, Draco and a few of the others eavesdrop. They hear all of the disgusting shit Hermione's mother is spouting and realise how hard Hermione's life is outside of Hogwarts. I think this is a catalyst for them changing her behaviour towards her.
In the other one Hermione is at a charity gala with her parents which is organised by an association (?) they are part of. Turns out the Malfoys are at the head of said association. I think Hermione's mother resents them because they are richer/more powerful/etc. then them. When it turns out that Hermione knows Draco and his parents she gets angry about that.
It's possible that the fic is a WIP. I definitely read it on AO3 in the last year or so :) Thank you for your help! 🙏
