I've been using my trusty Scorpion EXO-400 for almost 20 years. Great lid, fits excellent and has held up well but i'm overdue for a new helmet. Picked up a Covert FX Carbon during a Christmas sale this year figuring the fit should be good and reviews were very positive. Tried it on when I got it and it fit very nice and looked incredible. It sat for the rest of our Wisconsin winter but i've taken a couple rides with it now and I think I hate it. I'm riding an 80's sportbike and modern naked stuff.
It's MUCH louder than the EXO-400. Closing the vents on top helps a little, of course, but not that much. It has a lot of bassy noise above 50mph.
My natural eye line is towards the top 3rd eye port and the bevel on the shield distorts it and makes my view very odd. I wonder if this is because it's a "cruiser" helmet and I'm more nose-down on a sportbike???
I'm pretty bummed. I figured 20 years later and a new helmet would be super quiet. Is part of my issue because it's not necessarily a sport/touring bike helmet? Perhaps I would be happy with an EXO-R1?
