Santa Maria “smoke box” or similar?

Hey all - have a random question here. Have a custom Santa Maria that I love, that said the only place I feel it’s lacking is not having a lid. I wonder if there’s a product out there that’s like a large ish (enough to cover a chicken or two?) steel box with a handle that I could use to simply sit on top of the grates that covers the meat and keeps some of the smoke in. Not looking to actually do intensive smoke just keep some of the heat in without also getting a Weber kettle 😂

A little help with my gai yang?

So there’s a local chicken spot called SS gai, that frankly, makes the highest quality gai yang and gai tod I’ve had outside Thailand (and maybe even in?)

Given that I can’t afford to eat there every day, I figure I’d try to make it. I used Mark Wiens recipe but was a little underwhelmed with the carmelization and general ability of the marinade to stay on chicken. Does anyone have a favorite recipe?? Here are some photos of MINE and then the last two are SS gai.

Now mine wasn’t bad. I’m no newb to the grill! But looking for best practices !

Edit: for note - heavy in the deep house range. Have a ton of old seasons recordings, aesoteric, Glasgow underground etc. I do love bridging the gap between the two
