Seriously, I need to know if I'm the only one who thinks this way. Every time I open Instagram or listen to any career podcast, it's the same message: 'Do what you love!'. But let's be honest, how many of us have the financial security to just try things until they find their true passion?
For most people I know, myself included, a job is just to get by. It's barely enough to cover the mortgage, college loans, and put food on the table. This whole 'passion' thing feels like a trendy concept designed specifically to make you feel like you're failing if you don't wake up ecstatic to go to your 8-to-6 job.
So I'm wondering, is it better to just make peace with the idea that a job is just a job? Or am I being too cynical, and there's real value in chasing your dream career, no matter the cost?
