I’m currently researching and refining a repeatable system on how to build better focus without relying on random bursts of motivation.
One thing that’s helped me is tracking where my time actually goes, then using that to find one small block, plus systematic tools, that I can turn into focused work.
I’d like to try this with an accountability buddy through about a 3-call process that includes:
- 1st day introduction: I’ll give you a first tool to help you track your time effortlessly and explain how to use it.
- 2nd call: after 2–3 days, we schedule and call again. You may already have progress by then, or you may not, which is both fine. We will start from here, and I’ll give you tools according to your personalised environment.
- 3rd call: after 5–6 days of the entire process, we see how much you naturally progress.
I’ve initially used this tool on myself and then with my friends, so now I’m trying to test if it works on more people, as my friends’ current feedback is that they like this tool so much. I also thought it could help because we all used to relate so much to all the unmotivated and can’t-work posts on Reddit, and we “suffered” once we got our school grades/results, etc.
We just thought this method was quite useful but don’t know how to scale it, so we’re figuring it out right now. Would you be our beta? 😄
Simple rundown:
- Pick one goal or project you care about — what you currently need/want more focus time on.
- Then track your time for a few days with our method.
- We will find out which part specifically to improve based on your personalised situation, with various tools.
- Then there will be text-message question clearing / final check-in to check progress. Feel free to text me anytime.
- If we go further, we can even further adjust based on what worked and what didn’t, but that would be part of the long-term plan afterward.
Nothing extreme — just a small experiment to see if making time more visible helps us use it better.
Async time-zone check-ins are fine. My “office hours” for this project will be GMT 4–11am.
If this sounds useful, comment or DM with what you’re trying to focus on.
