Is it pretty common for cement/glue whatever it’s called to be left between teeth after a temp is put in? Like to the point of not being able to floss because it’s blocking the way?

Been trying to get in due to that and a high bite on the temp which is causing enough pain resonating down the jaw and into the neck, enough to need warm compresses & Motrin, but they keep saying the guy who worked on my tooth is too busy and when I ask for any other dentist in the office to have a look at it, they say he doesn’t want to have other dentists working on his patients. So I’m waiting until he’s available I guess.
