Side Effects Worth it?
I am a 5’7 36F, about 145lbs. Very athletic - been strengthening for 15 years and ride road bikes for long distances.
I went on Reta 5 weeks ago because my doctor and I were hoping it will help with some inflammation markers that have been on the higher side and to also help with food noise. I also have PMDD and have learned that Reta can help with symptoms.
I started with .5mg a week for 4 weeks and just upped to 1mg this past Friday. I can fall asleep completely fine, but I wake up around 3 AM or 4 AM every morning with the cortisol spike, feeling clammy and a lot of anxiety. After that, I’m really only able to fall back asleep for a couple minutes at a time.
I tried to eat a high carb meal before bed, which seemed to help a little bit before, but now not so much. During the day I feel mostly OK because I eat a high protein/carb diet to support training but nights freak me out.
I don’t really wanna quit because I have seen other benefits like reduction in food noise, a lessening of anxiety during the day, overall inflammation in my face and stomach area, but I’m worried about these hypoglycemic type of symptoms.
My question is this, should I just push through and continue or should I stop?
