I’m interested in applying for a master’s degree in bioinformatics for the spring semester of 2027. Since I graduated from veterinary school, which provides a biological background, I need to highlight my computer science skills in my resume to improve my chances of getting accepted.

Currently, I’m learning Python. Could you please recommend a few bioinformatics projects that I can undertake?

Hi

I’m currently preparing for IELTS and struggling a bit with staying consistent, especially studying alone. I’ve realized I do much better when there’s some kind of structure.

We can:

- set weekly goals or daily goals (reading, writing, listening, or speaking)

- share what we did or practiced at the end of the day with proofs

- maybe occasionally practice speaking together

Just mutual accountability to stay consistent.

If you’re preparing for IELTS and want something like this, comment or DM me.

Anyone interested in an IELTS accountability group?

I’m currently preparing for IELTS and struggling a bit with staying consistent, especially studying alone. I’ve realized I do much better when there’s some kind of structure and people to check in with.

I’m thinking of a small group where we:

- set weekly goals or daily goals (reading, writing, listening, or speaking)

- share what we did or practiced at the end of the day with proofs

- maybe occasionally practice speaking together if people are up for

Just mutual accountability to stay consistent.

If you’re preparing for IELTS and want something like this, comment or DM me.

Anyone interested in a small dance accountability group?

I’m trying to stay consistent with dancing (practice, freestyle, choreography, etc.), and I’ve noticed I do way better when there’s some kind of structure and people to check in with.

The idea is simple:

- small group (not too big)

- post 2–3 times a week

- just to stay consistent and have something to look forward to

Not a coaching thing, no pressure to give detailed feedback—just mutual accountability.

All levels welcome, just looking for people who are actually serious about showing up.

If you’re interested, comment or DM me.

Hi there,

I’m self-studying and have ADHD, which makes it challenging for me to maintain consistency. I’m interested in finding a strict accountability partner or even better, a group.

I’m planning to apply for a graduate degree in bioinformatics for the spring semester. As a veterinary medicine graduate, I have a biology background and need to learn Python to build a few projects that will enhance my chances of acceptance.

I’m committed to this plan and believe that having a partner or a group can help me stay on track. We can share our daily goals and send each other proof of our progress at the end of each day.

I’m a 26-year-old female and my time zone is GMT + 3:30. Given my background, I’m a complete beginner in programming, so I can’t offer much assistance in programming itself. However, I’m open to learning from an experienced programmer who can serve as a mentor. My primary goal is accountability, so the level of experience and the programming language you’re learning don’t matter as much.

Hi everyone

I’m a 26/F recent graduate in Veterinary Medicine, and I’ve recently decided to pursue a graduate degree in bioinformatics. I’m really interested in biology and programming and I’m now starting to take this path seriously.

I’ve begun learning Python (currently working through CS50) and want to build a solid foundation in programming. My goal is to develop a few meaningful projects that could strengthen my graduate school applications.

Since my academic background is purely veterinary and I don’t have access to mentors in bioinformatics, I would really appreciate guidance from people in this field.

Specifically, I’d love advice on:

- What core skills I should prioritize in the next few months

- What kind of beginner → intermediate projects are actually valuable for bioinformatics applications

- Any recommended resources or learning paths

I would really appreciate any direction or suggestions.

Thank you!

Hi there,

I’ve been trying to learn Python, but it’s challenging for me to maintain consistency. I have ADHD, and since I’m self-studying without any external structure, it’s difficult for me to stay on track.

I would appreciate it if you could be a Python programmer who checks in with me weekly to assess my progress and ensure that I’m meeting my weekly goals. I understand that this may sound unusual, but I regular evaluation is crucial for my success.

There’s no reward for my request.

I would be incredibly grateful if you could help me.
