Hello I have received my clincheck treatment plan today and I am not sure what to think. If any orthodontists can please offer their opinions I would be greatly appreciated. I have suffered with an open bite for around 7 years now, before I had perfectly straight teeth and no biting issues, etc. I guess you would also say the perfect bite too! My teeth are still straight and I am happy with them but the bite I am not.
On my initial consultation I had a scan done (I did not take a picture unfortunately) but what the simulation predicted looked great and overwhelmed me with what my “new look” would look like, it seemed great and just what I wanted. Fast forward, I have paid the money in full, had a general checkup, hygienist and done the necessary fillings before going for my “actual scans”. As far as I am aware the exact same machine was used, nothing different. I was initially put onto the Invisalign moderate plan which includes up to 20 aligners. I spoke with the lead clinician and asked him if Invisalign Comprehensive would be more wise as it includes unlimited aligners and the price difference was not much different, I wanted every guarantee that it would fix my problems. After speaking with him and telling him I am a sufferer of TMJ issues he said it would be wise to make the switch to comprehensive as they could effectively “slow down” the movement progress to help “reduce pain” that might be experienced throughout the treatment. I paid for the comprehensive treatment plan. I was reassured that Invisalign would fix my bite issues and give me the bite I once had.
I have received my clincheck treatment plan via the My Invisalign app today from my Doctor (as Invisalign call them) and it looks as if little to nothing has improved. General alignment of teeth has improved but my bite has become more open all around. My back teeth are currently in contact as you can see from the 0/10 pictures, but jumping to 10/10 it seems as if they will not be. Maybe I am wrong and need someone to help explain how it all works? I feel pretty stressed out and disheartened to say the least. The administration/coordinator team has been nothing short of awful but I chose to still go ahead with it and ignore the first warning signs, as in my head they would not be the ones doing the treatment. From the Clincheck review I will have no more than 10 aligners (correct me if I'm wrong), which would have been covered by the Invisalign Lite plan which includes up to a maximum of 14 aligners. My hope was for Invisalign to fix my bite issues and close my bite. From what I can tell it won’t do either of these things, if I am looking at things correctly.
When I had my first initial consultation I was told by the coordinator that it was roughly around “80% chance” of what it would look like at the final result. The second set of scans, my “real ones”, would be “roughly 95% accurate” and look even better than the first set, even though the same equipment was used in both situations (as far as I can tell). Have I been lied to throughout the whole process?
Please, if anyone can advise me or give me some sort of guidance, that would be greatly appreciated. I am supposed to be going to my “Clincheck review” this week but want to know thoughts and opinions. Thank you in advance so much for any support you may offer!
