Thought I'd share here, although take lightly as will not be the same in all cases. But I first bought INTC in march 2024 around $44 mark then kept buying the dip. Then during trump's tariff day I sold all 115 shares for £1800ish, losing around £800. one year later if I had held I would have almost £9k. I just didn't see how they could recover and will be one of those ones I'll look back on in a few years and laugh about. So I'm not saying don't sell but when the market is down maybe use that dry powder and hold more than 3years minimum.
Note reason for selling is that I had Nvidia as well where I made a good chunk which offset the losses and I just wanted the dry powder at the time, which did prove useful as I got robbin hood at $53 and sold at $135. Although I have a couple single stocks with play money most of my funds are in ETFs, as I've just proven single stocks can be risky if make emotional decisions
Good luck everyone
