Maybe a silly question but how do I know I am going to get a duplicate copy of the actual certificate of naturalization from USCIS?
Maybe a silly question but how do I know I am going to get a duplicate copy of the actual certificate of naturalization from USCIS? I don’t want to receive this document, at some point in the future, and realize I made a mistake.
I need this document for citizenship by descent for Slovakia. After my super helpful advice on this sub about the difference between USCIS and NARA – I went to https://genealogy.uscis.dhs.gov/#/search to request the Index Search Request.
I asked for a response “By Mail” and restated that I need “Paper Copies Requested” in the open text box at the bottom.
Are all paper documents that come from USCIS official duplicate copies or is there something I should have specifically said in the open text box? I’m okay with wasting another $30 to make sure I get this right.
Thanks so much!
