Hi everyone,
I would like to ask whether anyone has had a similar experience.
About 10 months ago, I developed a small red spot on my shoulder/upper chest area. Over time it slowly expanded outward and now looks like a large red ring/circle with normal-looking skin in the middle. The skin is not raised, not scaly, and it does not really itch or hurt. I do not have fever, joint pain, neurological symptoms, or any other noticeable symptoms. It is more visible after I take a shower, but other than visual appearance there is nothing unusual.
4 months after the rash first appeared, I visited my doctor which ordered Lyme disease blood tests, which came back negative. Yesterday (10 months after I noticed the rash for the first time), I saw a dermatologist who said it might be Lyme disease/erythema migrans and prescribed antibiotics.
I also tried clotrimazole cream earlier when the rash was smaller, but it did not help.
Has anyone experienced something similar, either with Lyme disease or another annular/ring-shaped skin condition?
I understand Reddit cannot diagnose this, and I have already planned another blood test and another dermatology appointment with different dermatologist. I am mainly looking for similar experiences or suggestions on what to ask the dermatologist to check.
I attached 2 pictures, one where is the circle on my body (the arrow is where it started) and the photo with the red edge on my shoulder.
I will be thankfull for any recommendations or ideas!
