I really don’t get why people act like only other state students need hostels. Even for Delhi students, hostel matters a lot.

I live around 30 km from campus, and my daily commute takes 3+ hours for a round trip. That’s exhausting, wastes so much time, and honestly makes it harder to properly be part of college life.

Hostel isn’t just about having a place to stay. It’s a huge part of engineering life — meeting seniors and juniors, building connections, personality development, late-night discussions, group studies, and actually experiencing campus culture.

A lot of local students need hostel facilities too, not because they’re from faraway states, but because long commutes seriously affect academics, social life, and overall growth.
