I (23f) am struggling in a long distance relationship with bf (33m). How do i know if it’s not working anymore?

We met in november and started officially dating close to New years and been together ever since. The first time he came to my hometown was when we met in person for the first time on a random night then last time he was here was for new years for a week. Since then i’ve been to his state to see him in February for a week then april for about 2 weeks. It is now May and we’ve originally talked about him coming here this month so he can meet my family and visit me. But now he’s saying it impossible for him because of his job, dogs, and his daughter which I totally understand and should be his number one priority. However, I mentioned maybe he can come in June but he said no. He said he has a boys trip in june, another summer trip in July and which would realistically mean we won’t see each other for months. He said I am welcome to see him anytime but the problem is, I don’t have as much means as he does and me taking off work so much would put me in a tough spot. He works from home and makes more than I do (what he’s told me in the past). Anyways, I just feel like I would never be a priority in this relationship and I just want equal efforts when it comes to travel. I’m now feeling the struggle with the distance. But my question is, am I doing a lot more than him when it comes to the effort of seeing each other and how would I know if this is for me?
