I watched Wuthering Heights 2026 yesterday and am FOREVER changed. I’m craving a book with similar elements, with the same emotional impact.

These are some of the things I’m looking for:

✅possessive hero (and heroine if possible)
✅childhood relationship
✅forbidden aspect
✅toxic or chaotic
✅not opposed to cheating (MC’s with each other)
✅complex/nuanced characters

I’d rather it be a HEA but honestly I’m not fussed - whatever it ends as, as long as it impacts me emotionally.

I have never delved into HR, but am happy to takes recs from that genre if that’s where some of these lie and give the same elements!

THIS BOOK WAS FUCKING INSANE!! If you love a dark, angsty, intense bully romance with emotional depth, an intriguing murder mystery/serial killer plot alongside literally the best spice you will ever read in your life… you have to read this new release from H.D Carlton.

I had been craving a bully romance to hit the spot for so so long and after like 5 duds in a row this delivered like nobody’s business. I cannot explain to you how filthy the mouth on Dread is but trust me when I say he’s not just vocal with his words.. the man fucking whimpers. The spice is insanely hot, with a vocal FMC and MMC (which I rarely see in romance books.. like gimme the vocal MMC’s!!!!)

On top of that the side characters are great, I already want books for other couples hinted at, the murder mystery is driving my crazy with theories and suspects and then on top of that are these two characters who are so intrinsically woven together in their history and trauma it’s actually such a beautiful and tragic love story.

I just finished this 10 minutes ago, wrote my Goodreads review and hadddd to come on here and gush because this will tickle the spot of anyone who loves any of these things:

✅GREAT bully romance

✅enemies to lovers (but really enemies)

✅possessive/insanely jealous MMC

✅the hottest spice you’ll ever read (she’s a 💦, he’s a moaner, and well-endowed, he makes a replica dildo of his you know what so she never fucks anything else, yes, insane)

✅engaging plot outside of the romance (murder mystery, serial killers etc..)

✅a FMC who retaliates/fights back against the bully

I jut feel like I need to recommend to book to the right audience, hope you enjoy if you decide to give it a go!
