Pressure tested with original battery’s and vintage bulbs, it works.

I posted this a couple months ago. Got for 156nzd.

I greased the seals and used a bike pump to pressurise it, put a bulb in and put it in a bath.

The camera actually fired with the original battery and fired the bulb.

Still unsure if I should actually use this in ocean or leave it on the shelf?

3 weeks in Japan with my family in May/June. Looking for weather tips, money advice, hidden spots + general recommendations

Hey everyone,
Me, my wife and my 14 year old daughter are finally doing our Japan trip this year and I’m seriously excited.
We’re coming from New Zealand and this has been one of those trips we’ve talked about for ages. I’m massively into photography too, especially film photography, so this trip is kind of a dream combo of family memories, cameras and Japan at night.
Our rough plan is:

Tokyo (Shimura-Motohasunumachō area): May 21 to May 28
Osaka (Umeda/Nakatsu area): May 28 to June 4
Kamakura: June 4 to June 8
Tokyo again, staying in Asakusa Riverside: June 8 to June 11

Stuff we already booked:
teamLab Planets in Toyosu
Kimono rental in Asakusa for my wife and daughter
Dotonbori sightseeing boat
Hiroshima + Miyajima day trip
Universal Studios Japan
JDM experience in Yokohama with R32 GT-Rs
I’ve been trying hard to make this trip balanced between fun stuff for the family and also slower moments where we can just wander, eat random food, shoot photos and soak everything in.

A few things I wanted to ask from people who’ve already been:
Weather
How rough is late May/early June weather wise?
I keep reading mixed stuff about rain and humidity. Is it “light jacket at night” weather or “walking through soup” weather? Trying to work out what clothes we should actually bring without overpacking.
Money
How much cash do people realistically carry around daily(have around 10k nzd)
I know Japan is more card friendly now but I still hear cash is king in some places.
Also any advice on Suica/Pasmo/cards/ATMs would be appreciated.

Hidden spots / less touristy places
I’m not really after only mega tourist checklist places. Some of my favourite travel moments are quieter streets, little cafés, random coastal towns, old shopping streets and photography spots.

Especially interested in:
Night photography spots
Old school Japan vibes
Scenic train rides
Chill places near Osaka or Tokyo for a day trip
Places that feel cinematic at night
Good spots for film camera shopping/accessories

Local food spots people still think about years later
Since we’re staying around Shimura-Motohasunumachō, Umeda/Nakatsu, Kamakura and Asakusa, I’d especially love recommendations around those areas too.
General advice

Anything you wish you knew before your first Japan trip?
I’m also trying to avoid overplanning every second because I know some of the best moments happen when you randomly turn down a side street.
