Desperately seeking any directional advice on an early career path
Hey guys, this is my first time posting, so apologies for the poor formatting. I recently graduated from a coding trade school and a tech & career program through a CC, and I’ll graduate with my AAS at the end of the fall term. After that, I plan to go for my BAAS in cyber.
I’m 18F and only about a year into tech/development, but I feel like I’m nowhere near where I need to be educationally. I’ve also been seeking out entry-level roles or internships to gain experience in the field, but I haven’t had much luck, especially considering there isn’t much on my resume yet, and you can’t exactly compete when you don’t compare.
I definitely try networking, but I live in a pretty rural area, so there aren’t really any tech hubs, networking events, or meetups nearby. I also try reaching out to people through LinkedIn, but most people won’t give me the time of day.
I’ve been feeling super defeated, especially knowing there are people who are 10x smarter or more qualified than me in the same position. I’d really appreciate any advice anyone could offer, whether in career, education, knowledge, networking, or just in general!
