STRICT screen time restrictions?

hi everyone,
i have a very severe problem with screen time, particularly instagram and reddit. it’s really affecting my mental health.
as part of a study, i had my social media completely blocked for two weeks at the start of april, which was such an incredible and fun two weeks. but once i got my access back, i rebounded twice as much, with my screen time reaching 11 hours some days when it was only 7 hours before the study.
apps i have tried already that didn’t work (enough) for me:
\- screenzen: i preferred the intervention options on one sec premium more, like typing in a code.
\- one sec: worked splendidly for a week! then i just stopped thinking about my intentions opening the app and went through the interventions like they were nothing. my screen time returned to normal, and eventually worse.
\- bepresent: i don’t want to pay $60/year! ended after the free trial. worked okay, not sure about long term.
\- brick: just didn’t use it properly. i still have it in my kitchen. i don’t have a problem with running back to my kitchen to scroll reels, anyway. my brain’s need for dopamine outweighs this.
\- apple screen time: “remind me in 15 minutes”
sooo. it’s really bad. anyone have advice or a better way to restrict it? i’m only 18. i got a phone when i was 9. i don’t know how to do better.
i’m a college student. i need the internet for schoolwork.

Visiting

Hi all,
I was born in USA but am ethnically Azerbaijani. I haven’t visited in years and my family has planned a trip there in June. However, I am a little concerned about going there due to the ongoing war in the Middle East. Is there valid reason to be concerned?
