Hello all,
I will be going on a Med cruise June 14-21 on the NCL Gem and our first stop will be in Salerno. I have a few questions for anyone who has stopped in this port for a day. We have from 7AM-6PM. I have planned out a possible itinerary for my husband and I to do on our own. I’ve traveled within Italy before and have a good understanding of public transport and have already checked ferry times regarding this day. Has anyone ever stopped here and gone to any of the towns on the Amalfi Coast without doing an excursion? We visited Amalfi and Positano for a day on my last trip so I was more focused on some of the smaller towns nearby. The Path of Lemons between Maiori and Minori is what I had planned on doing during that stop. We are planning on taking the ferry from Salerno to Maiori and then taking the path on and ending in Minori. We will walk around and check out both places as well. Time permitting we may take the ferry on to Amalfi since it’s such a short trip over, but as we’ve been once already if we don’t have a ton of time we’re okay with just ferrying back to Salerno from Minori and calling it a day. I think the earliest ferry we can take that morning is 9AM and takes around 35 minutes. I am assuming that we will have enough time to at least do the path and check out those spots and get back in time. Has anyone ever done this path or even been to either town before? I have excursions planned for most of the other stops on the cruise so I wanted to do this on our own as the cost of transportation is relatively low and excursions are insanely pricy and you really don’t have a ton of time during the stops. If there’s anyone here that’s done this before I’d just like to hear your experience and any advice you may have. Also open to suggestions for other ideas in that general area. Thanks in advance!

Hello!
I have an upcoming cruise that will be stopping in Salerno mid June. I am looking for a little advice as to whether I have enough time to do what I had potentially planned out for that port. We have from 7AM-6PM that day. My tentative plan is to take the ferry from Salerno to Maiori and then walk The Path of Lemons to Minori and sightsee in both towns and along the way. The earliest ferry to Maiori we are able to take is around 9AM and I’m pretty sure it takes around 35 minutes. I am assuming that will give us enough time to check out the area before walking the path to Minori and checking that area out as well? Time permitting we were considering then ferrying on to Amalfi as it’s close by, but we aren’t trying to rush the day so we are fine with heading back to Salerno from Minori if that takes up a good portion of the day. I have been to Amalfi and Positano once before (in the same day and I’m okay with skipping those crowds if need be) so those aren’t places we have on our must dos this trip. Just looking for advice as to whether it’s worth doing and if we’ll have time to enjoy the day. Thanks so much!

Hello all,
I am about to go on my first Norwegian cruise in Europe in just over a month. My final payment was due back in February and submitted. I was looking at cruises on the Norwegian website tonight and out of curiosity I checked to see how much our cruise is as of now. For the same trip we are taking with a reservation in the same type of cabin, the price has dropped over 700$. I was curious if anyone here has ever had this happen and had luck getting an upgrade or a future credit for compensation with the one time price drop adjustment I have seen NCL may offer if someone asks? 700$ is a good amount of money in my opinion, so I figured it’s at least worth a shot to call and see what I’m told. If anyone has ever had this happen and has gotten compensated I would love to speak with you. Thanks so much!

I have to say that today may be the first day of the 2026 season that I haven’t spent my entire time watching the game(s) wanting to stab myself in the eye repeatedly with a rusty fork. We have reached May already and it’s a breath of fresh air to see some spark and life amongst this group for the first time so far this season in my opinion. Not saying I’m counting my chickens before they hatch, but today was a fun day to watch some baseball and I sure did appreciate that. Hopefully more of this is to come!
