I (28F) have been dating my boyfriend(28M) for almost 8 years. His family is very different from mine, and his sister (33F) is a clepto. Without getting into too much detail she had/has drug related mental issues. I used to live with them for about three years, and it seemed like my stuff was always fair game. We both like anime/manga, and i had an extensive library that she would often go in. I even once ran into her while she was taking at least a dozen books, and as i stare at her in disbelief, she unbothered says “oh, do you mind if i borrow these?”. I said sure in utter shock, knowing that i would never see those books again. Because of her disposition ive honestly chalked all this up as a loss… but heres the main issue at hand:

I had an instagram artist ive been in love with since at least 2014. When they released a limited clothing line i was first to buy before they sold out. I was over the moon to finally have not only a physical work but it was so cute and worked well with so many different outfits, i was in love.

And then it was stolen. I knew she took it. It had been missing for years. I reached out to the artist last year and asked if theyd ever make the shirt again. They said unfortunately for the time being they wouldnt have clothes in their shop for a long while (its already been 8 years 😭😭😭) . I was devastated. Not only could i not replace it, but i couldnt even buy a piece to replace it…

The kicker? We go over yesterday evening to his parents. Shes sitting there in a zipped up jacket but it took me less then a second to recognize it. Peaking out from under the zipped jacket i could see the hand from the design. She still had it. She didnt lose it. Thank god!!!! But now my whole issue- how do i go about asking for MY shirt back? Im so relieved she still has it but i dont even know how to go about mentioning, “Hey i saw you wearing my shirt, can i have it back?”. Its so awkward, im so un-confrontational, but i want it back so bad. It took everything in me not to blow up at her yesterday.

So, how do i go about asking for my shirt back without sounding like a jerk???

I realize how everyone is feeling right now, especially with the frustration of an amnesia arc. Yes it seems to be a trend in mangakas right now, and I understand how the general public can become tired of it. However, I think that because chapters have been spaced out so much recently there is a delusion in the subreddit. Momo hasnt had her memories for only 22 chapters. She lost them in 210, we are currently on chapter 232 with a release scheduled for Monday next week.

Most of you think that this has been long winded and tiresome, when realistically in the spacing of manga this actually hasnt been going on for too long. In Witch Watch, Nico’s amnesia/child arc lasted ONE HUNDRED CHAPTERS. As a reader that was awful, but it finally came to a resolution. With that perspective in mind and how long arcs can actually span, i dont believe Dandadan will continue this arc much longer as an experienced manga reader. I don’t know if a lot of the people in the subreddit are younger or not, or have read a quicker paced story-but previous long running manga have followed this pattern. So to surmize, I don’t think this current arc is going to last much longer and will have a quick resolution, possibly after the theme park date, and momokarun will get back on track. This has been a PSA.

Also side note: Technical-Lime’s dreams will be quashed in less than 20 chapters. Good luck my friends.
