Hi please kindly respect what I'm about to ask.
I lost my phone yesterday by pickpocket. I was with my boyfriend and we werent sure where the incident had occured but our main suspicion is at the train station. We didnt realize that the phone got stolen until we reached out destination.
After trying to attempt to contact the phone using my boyfriend's phone number
he received a link stating that the phone has been found.
Panic kicks in since we cannot get a hold of the phone.
When he received the message. It seems legitimate. ALERT . Iphone 15 pro max has been found. then the url which didnt seems suspicous at all. WE tried logging in the apple ID and Password . then asked for a password. but the password asked wasnt the phone. it was one of the phone used to have and but in storage.
After that we lost it and realize it might be scam.
I am not a dumb person and people describe me as bright / intelligent but it really wrecks you when panic kicks in . you cannot think straight. Im sorry for this
After that the phone went offline.
I tried searching for the right site which was icloud.com/find and locked it but it is still pending and erase too. we also contacted that apple support and did proactive measures to retrieve my number at our carrier and blocks my online banks.
My question is . Was the thief able to open and access my data since the password asked was different from the phone? upon checking my banks, their is no compromised. I am just really uncertain that the thief would access my personal data as well . Help me find light in this uncertainty . Please
