Amazon JP usually has point-based campaign associated to sales, where users can get qualify for extra points by spending a certain amount during the campaign.

I am fairly certain they started using dynamic thresholds for determining the minimum amount that needs to be spent to qualify for the points, and not in a good way. For the first time (AFAIK), for this golden week sale, the minim amount I need to spend is 30000円 instead of the usual 10000円. I have checked other users and the thresholds are lower, starting from 10000円. What a disappointment.

I wouldn't be surprised if they also started using dynamic pricing (i.e. they show you the highest price they think you'll pay, based on data they have on your profile as a consumer). Even though my Keepa add-on should help me seeing the real price history.

I usually have a backlog of low-priority purchases that I postpone until one of these campaign starts, but now I'll consider doing my online shopping on Rakuten marketplace or something else.
