I’ve been noticing a pattern in myself lately and I’m wondering if anyone else deals with this.
I’ll have a clear idea of what I should be doing during the day (studying, working out, building something, etc.), but instead I end up defaulting to easy dopamine — gaming, scrolling, YouTube. Then the day’s gone and I feel like I wasted it.
It’s not that I don’t know what to do… it’s more like I don’t follow through consistently.
I’ve tried productivity apps and habit trackers, but they usually work for a few days and then I fall off.
So I’ve been thinking about building something different:
An app that gives you daily “missions” — simple, structured actions that replace bad habits and build consistency over time. Almost like turning discipline into a game instead of relying on motivation.
Before I go down that road, I’m curious:
Do yall struggle with this same pattern?
What usually causes you to fall off after a few days?
Would something like daily “missions” actually help, or would it just become another app you ignore?
Trying to figure out if this is just a “me problem” or something more common
