Why do people drive like they own the road here? Almost got into a bad accident today

I really need to talk about the driving culture in Multan or all over in Pakistan. It is honestly exhausting and dangerous.

Today, I was on my bike travelling from cantt to 9 No chungi, and I keep running into two types of people:

  1. Nishatr Chowk: A Changan car guy who was driving fast intially and then drove super slowly after taking a turn of the Nishtar Chowk to Katcehri flyover and comes in middle of the road, blocking everyone behind them and I was scared someone from behind might hit me, kalma par lia tha mein NE Tu. They have zero road etiquette and act like it’s their father’s private road and pata Nahi konse dreams mein Chal rahein hotein. Paisa agia but driving sense Nahi ayi is qouam KO.

  2. Alto car guy just before the Katcehri flyover: I was going straight over a flyover when an Alto suddenly decided to cut across me from the right to take a left turn to go from below the flyover. On a bike, that is absolutely terrifying. One small touch and I was done. No indicator nothing, if you have to turn left then at least give indicator and slightly move left from behind but Nahi kyon kein log don't care they will do what they want to do.

The funniest (and most annoying) part is that these same people become "perfect citizens" the moment they go abroad. They follow every sign and speed limit in Europe because they are afraid of the law. But the moment they are back here, they drive like animals because they know they can get away with it.

I'm just tired of people having no sense of safety for others. Stay safe out there, especially if you’re on two wheels. It’s a jungle here. 😔
