I’m a freshman course 8 taking 8.03 this semester. Since 8.04 is only offered in the spring, I was planning on taking 8.033 next semester and then taking 8.04 sophomore spring.

However, I just heard about 8.041 and I’m considering taking that next fall and then 8.051 next spring. Note that if I do this, I probably won’t have space in my schedule for 8.033 next semester.

So I have a couple questions for physics upperclassmen and alumni:

- What are 8.041 and 8.051 like? What are their pros and cons compared to 8.04 and 8.05?

- What is 8.033 like? I want to go to grad school for astrophysics, so is 8.033 something I should take if I want to go down that route? Or would 8.20 be sufficient?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
