For desirable apartments that hold open houses (not high rises with lots of inventory), how quickly do you need to be when applying to have a shot? Within an hour? Minutes?

I toured a place I loooooooved yesterday but didn't apply until an hour later. Kicking myself for it now. Toured one today and someone had applied before even seeing the property, landlord said it was FCFS.

Is an hour soon enough?

Consider a move to the area near Pulaski Park. I'm sick of Lincoln Park and want to live somewhere a little cooler that still has easy access to Gold Coast where my partner lives.

Seems like Ashland is really loud, the Jewel kinda sucks, and the Blue Line stop has the usual cta station sketchiness. I'd definitely prefer something quieter/more pedestrian friendly. But great access to Blue Line neighborhoods sounds nice!

Anyone live in the area? Do you like it?
