i am a computer engineer and working in local seo field for 9 months now(let's say below average local seo specialist till date) and all i do most these days when it comes to coding is just "prompt" the model to do it. in last 3 months, the models have become really better at coding. and now, there are specialized coding agents, where some focused on exploring ui ideas, some on actually implementing it, meaning each focused on solving one problem.
i am curious which tools and how exactly local seo specialist are using tools to get things done faster. what are you offloading the llms or tools to do the job, i found many of them are using claude code. sarvesh is someone whom i have been following for a while on x now, he uses claude code. i also found few platforms offering connectors of gbp, gsc, ga and other many platforms, but mcp bloats the context so not sure if local seo specialists are using it or not.
what are you guys using it for and what has it helped on so far and where does it sucks?
few things i recall doing are
- let it do the analyze part like give it gbp performance data with breakdown of each month and ask how is it going there. like branded and non branded traffic, and basic insights like trending up and down as it is there in google search console (by default but not in gbp)
- (data analysis basically)
- provide it with google search and google analytics data and again ask to analyze and see what it has to say on it and what it recommends (planning with it) - i ask different models to see how they respond
- respond to existing reviews with pure personalization and follow google guidelines, as well as generate google posts (i have not used ai generated photos yet in gbp though, but i think i will start experimenting with it, but since i work with health brands, i am avoiding it, but on google ads too, google itself suggest to generate images for ads, so could become new norm) not sure. (it is more like having an intern that does the job i guess)
- pass the technical issues extracted from screaming frog and give to "codex" and let it fix those issues. for the ones that i have full codebase access of. this was site built on laravel ( haven't tried with wordpress though)
- earlier, i used free trial of few tools that give me relevant reddit post related to my business, but not sure why i couldn't stick long enough to pay them.
would love to know how are you incorporating ai in your operations, what it does well and what it doesn't do well.
