We were Southern Electric until November when we switched to Octopus and a smart meter. Since then, despite nothing changing, our bills have shot up showing that we are using three times as much electricity as before! We checked the smart meter by testing it according to Octopus's instructions and it appears to be working correctly. My husband then checked each circuit to see what was drawing power when. The background usage seemed high, but he couldnt identify what was causing it. We are stumped as to what is going on. Anyone got any ideas? Should we get an electrician in to try and identify the 'problem'?
