AITA for leaving my partner in town?
I’d planned to spend Sunday relaxing at home since it’s been a busy few weeks at work and I’m quite burnt out. I’d planned to just relax at home, catch up on tv, play video games etc.
My girlfriend asked if I wanted to into town as she needed to grab a few things from the shop. She said she’d only be an hour so I said I’d go as long as she wasn’t longer than an hour and as long as we could go to a coffee shop I like after and she agreed.
We started going in the shops she needed then an hour passed. I mentioned this to her and she said she’d just be 15-20 mins. That time passed and she mentioned she’d only be another 15 mins. I told her if she was any longer I’m leaving. 15 min passed and she was still looking so I told her I was going and just got a taxi back home.
When she got back around 90 mins later she asked what I was doing leaving her in town. I pointed out I told her I’d leave if she kept staging it out an pointe out he repeatedly lied about how long she was going to be and I didn’t want to waste my weekend when she knew I was tired and just wanted to relax.
She said I was out of order leaving her in town but I just told her she should have respected my time instead of expecting the weekend to just be about her and what she wants.
