Substance Abuse Issues Anyone(?)
I (M, 30) am diagnosed with Bipolar 2 with CPTSD and I am starting to suspect I might have BPD as well because of my people pleasing, lack of boundaries, and the way I mimic other people's personality and likes...
But that's not the point of this post. I'm just wondering how many of my bipolar people from reddit also deal with substance abuse issues?
I "only" use weed and alcohol but it's not so much the severity of the substances being used, but more how I use them. I can go for at most 2 days being sober with just nicotine vape and my SSNI/antipsychotic meds. I binge drink like hell and vape super strong weed.
Because of my unhealthy lifestyle/the drinking while on meds, I have dark red blood every time I go #2. But because I do not want to live, I'm hoping it's colon cancer or my liver failing and don't ever follow up seeing a doctor about the bloody stools. I just hope whatever it is it can hurry up a little. I'm willing to open up a little bit more about what I take med wise and the things I do "recreationally," in the comments/DM's but that's all I'll say for now.
So, do most/all bipolar people experience some type of substance abuse issues? Let me know.
And I'm sorry for offending anyone in this community in a recent(ish) post about asexuality. I was blacked out drinking when I replied to the comments, not that it makes it any better.
