I’m planning to start a PhD at Chiang Mai University soon, and I’m trying to get a realistic sense of student life there. I have two questions: 1. For PhD students at CMU or in Chiang Mai, how busy is PhD life usually? I know it depends on the program and advisor, but I’m wondering how people balance research, coursework, social life, and exploring the city.
2. Chiang Mai seems to have so many interesting things — libraries, cafés, markets, cultural events, workshops, temples, art spaces, etc. Where do students usually find out about campus events, cultural activities, talks, language exchanges, or student communities? I’d love to hear from current students, alumni, expats, or anyone who has lived in Chiang Mai for study/research. Thank you guys(\*゚∀゚)
