Why is it that crandall office doesn't do business outside USA?

Why is that, even when using forward forwarder?

To make it clear, I was using a middle man service to ship to someone in USA, then ship to me. Yet they found that out and canceled my order.

I bought both the Dell U2725QE (£526.92) and the BenQ RD280UG (£599.99). No sponsorships, just my own money.

Coming from a Samsung Neo 57" VA miniLED ultrawide (which I had to RMA 3 to 4 times before finally getting a refund), I realised ultrawide just isn’t for me. Too distracting, too much head movement, and honestly just takes over your entire desk. I also care a lot about PPI and text clarity, so I wanted something smaller and sharper.

I grabbed the BenQ (s RD280ug) first when it came back in stock. First impression: 3:2 felt weird. Like genuinely awkward at the start. But the stand is insanely good, super adjustable, easy to move around, rotate, height, everything, and I think the metal greyish finish looks awesome.

Then I tried portrait mode, and that’s where it clicked.

This thing in portrait is insane. Way wider than a typical 27" in portrait and actually usable. Reading long code / docs felt super natural.

Colours though? Not amazing. They don’t “pop”. I think the heavy matte coating plays a big role here, but it's okay. I personally love the dark mode a lot.

Then I ordered the Dell U2725QE.

Set it up next to the BenQ (BenQ in portrait), and yeah instantly noticed:

  • Dell looks way better visually (colours pop, cleaner look, thin bezels)
  • but, within minutes my eyes got tired and I even got a headache

This monitor has lots of reflections, even it's marked as matte.

Even at max brightness, the Dell still reflects a lot. I’ve got a window + lamp behind me, so during the day it’s basically unavoidable. That glossy-ish finish just doesn’t work in my setup.

Meanwhile the BenQ’s nano matte coating completely kills reflections. Way more comfortable to look at for long sessions. That plus the halo light makes it feel super easy on the eyes.

So yeah… I packed the Dell back up.

Right now I’m running the BenQ as my main, and honestly considering getting a second one and running dual (one landscape + one portrait).

Didn’t expect this outcome at all, but comfort > colours for me.

In the end the BENQ 3:2 shape grew on me, and I honestly think it looks cool.

Overall I think this is a massive improvement over their older version with 1:1000 contrast, and 60 hz.. The dark color filter is my favourite to use, as I love dark mode. I thought I would return this monitor when I got it out the box because I was so used to the thin bazels of OLED monitors, while this one is chunkier, but in the end I will keep it.
