We are getting married in June and will have between 40-50 people. We were thinking of doing a self serve bar for a few reasons.

1. A lot of family members either don’t drink at all or very little
2. Save on some money from needing a bartender

We did check with our venue and as long as guests do not have to pay for the drinks, we are allowed to do self serve. I was thinking to probably keep mostly seltzers, beer, wine doing this.

Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with this?

EDIT: when you opt for self serve the venue does have guests sign some sort of waiver that their drinking is basically their responsibility
