Title explains most of my question but I have a roughly 120Gal terrarium for my BP and I just cant keep the heat up. Averaging my thermometers the hot side is struggling to reach 27°C~28°C most days in the early spring. Im using a 150W CHE. Part of it is my home, its an old house that loses heat easily, and we prefer the room temp to be cooler than average. And I cant afford a PVC enclosure, wayyy too expensive for my budget at the moment + in Canada so everything feels like its 1.5× more expensive. But I'm trying to find solutions for my pet. Ive already taped the top with HVAC tape and plan to re-tape it soon.
One of my ideas was to install foam insulation board on the outside of the enclosure to prevent it radiating out into the room. But I don't know how effective that would be. Another solution would be another heat lamp but I don't know how well throwing more heat at it would work.
Thank you for reading my rambling post
