Hey y’all, after 2 failed heat treatments and a few weeks of using DE (we don’t have cimexa or crossfire here), I think we’re going to finally get someone out to exterminate again. They do a chemical spray and then a follow up with aprehend. If you’ve had aprehend used before, was it totally successful? I know it takes a little while to work, but from what I’ve heard, it’s one of the best ways to get these suckers. Thanks!

We’ve had 2 professional heat treatments done, and after the first one I found a bug 3 days later. After the second, things were good for about 2.5 weeks.
We started using DE about 5 days ago, along with steaming, vacuuming, and drying on high heat.
I just need to know if this is beatable on my own. For context, they were in 3 rooms now only in mine. I have no idea where they were hiding to not get the heat, but I’ve dusted DE on all the hiding spots imaginable.
I really just need to know I’m not alone and this is doable.
We do not have things like crossfire and cimexa where I live!! Please do not suggest it.
Edit: no money for expensive solutions right now!
I will try my best to make a long story short. I went to a lady to get laser treatment done on my chin and neck. She told me that the laser would make me hairless there for about a week, and with more treatments it would eventually be completely gone. I was going to a concert a few days later and just wanted the hair completely gone for that. While that sounded too good to be true, I tried a session anyway. And within hours the hair was growing back. I had a feeling it would because I also knew laser was something that took time to get rid of the hair.
Anyway, a few days later I went to get my eyebrows done at a spa, and the lady who works there told me all about electrolysis (she is also an electrologist.)
I told her what the lady who did my laser told me and she was in disbelief. She told me that while she also does laser at her spa, she would never ever recommend it to anyone with hormonal hair growth because it can actually stimulate the hair follicles and grow more!! She was so surprised the lady who did my laser session didn’t explain that to me or tell me about that risk.
After feeling relieved I only did one session, I went home and worked up the courage to call the lady who did my laser. I told her I had an upcoming session in a few weeks that I would like to cancel because there is a big risk of the hair growing back even worse. I guess she didn’t realize who I was and that I had already been there, and she told me “oh actually electrolysis doesn’t work for PCOS hair growth and laser does.” I said I actually came a few days ago and the hair started growing back right away after my laser. She then realized who I was and said “okay, I will cancel your appointment.” and hung up.
After doing my own research, I found this has happened to so many people with hormonal hair growth who weren’t aware, and that hair growth HAS been made worse by laser treatment. I’m going to save my money for electrolysis, even though it’s very expensive.
Side note, if laser has worked for you, that’s wonderful!!! I just don’t want to risk it personally.
Hello everyone, to make a long story short, we’ve been dealing with these suckers for months. We got 2 heat treatments done and it seems there’s a spot (specifically in my room, yay) where the heat just couldn’t quite reach. We have absolutely no clue where these guys are hiding (I have boxspring and mattress encasements, and my bed in the middle of my room.) I have no money left for a different kind of treatment right now, so my exterminator suggested using diatomaceous earth around baseboards, my bed, and any cracks/crevices. I would love to hear from you if you’ve had a positive experience using DE and have been able to completely get rid of the bugs with it. I am still vacuuming and steaming every few days and reapplying, and also drying my bedding on high heat every day.
I could just use some positivity right now. I know DE takes a while and is a waiting game, but I just want to know it’s possible. Thanks!
